Situbondo – The construction of the Territorial Development Infantry Battalion (Yonif TP) in Situbondo Regency has received serious attention from the ranks of Korem 083/Baladhika Jaya. This was demonstrated through the assistance provided by the Commander of Korem 083/Bdj, Colonel Inf. Wahyu Ramadhanus S., S.Sos., M.M.S., M.Han., while the Commander of Kodam V/Brawijaya, Major General TNI Rudy Saladin, M.A., inspected the construction site of the unit in Klatakan Village, Kendit District, on Wednesday (3/6/2026).
The inspection was conducted to ensure the readiness of the Yonif TP headquarters construction, which is one of the Indonesian Army’s strategic programs aimed at strengthening the regional defense system.
The Commander of Korem 083/Bdj stated that the establishment of the new unit holds significant importance in strengthening the national defense posture while also supporting various territorial development programs that have long been part of the TNI’s duties in the region.
“Yonif TP is a long-term strategic investment for national defense. Therefore, we are committed to providing maximum assistance and supervision so that the construction process proceeds according to the targets that have been set,” said the Commander of Korem.
He explained that the success of the development would not only depend on infrastructure readiness but also on the synergy of all parties involved. Therefore, coordination with the local government, related agencies, Perhutani, and the community will continue to be strengthened.
On the same occasion, the Commander of Kodam V/Brawijaya emphasized that the construction of Yonif TP is part of the Indonesian Army’s efforts to build an adaptive defense force that can also contribute to regional development.
The presence of Yonif TP is expected to become a center for territorial development capable of supporting various national programs, including food security and rural area development.
Through this development, the Indonesian Army demonstrates its commitment to continuously being present alongside the community in safeguarding national sovereignty while also supporting regional progress. (*)
